About B Pharm course

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is a four-year undergraduate curriculum in which students learn about the methods and processes of medication preparation as well as how medicine and drugs are dispensed. Anyone who wants to be a pharmacist nowadays must complete this course in order to gain a broad and in-depth understanding of the science of medicine.

It is a four-year programme that is broken into six to eight semesters based on curriculum and practical sessions. B.Pharma provides necessary information on biochemical science and the healthcare industry. Various practicals and experiments are required of students as part of their education.

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is the program’s governing organisation, and it is responsible for establishing all B.Pharma course norms and regulations. Candidates who complete the course will be able to practise as pharmacists following graduation. The B.Pharmacy degree has a lot of potential and will grow in popularity in the next years because there is a high demand for healthcare experts who can prepare pharmaceuticals to treat a wide range of diseases and deficits.

B.Pharma Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum Qualification Required: 10+2 or equivalent examination.
  • Candidate must have passed Class 12th with a combination of either Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
  • Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate): Minimum 50% in 10+2 in science subjects.
  • Age Limit: Age limit for B.Pharm. is 20 years for reserved category and 22 years for reserved category.

B.Pharma Admission Process:

  • Admission to the B.Pharm. programme is based entirely on a common entrance examination. (Like WBJEE in West Bengal / MHT-CET Maharashtra Entrance Test/ BHU-B Entrance Exam/ Goa Common Entrance Test)
  • Government and state colleges conduct their own entrance exams.
  • Only a few institutions provide direct admissions based on a cut-off list or merit list. (Management Kota)
